Verdict
The most efficient home solo box I've come across - a single 3nm BM1373 doing 2.4 TH/s at around 22 watts, so roughly 9 J/TH against a Bitaxe's 15. The catch is it's brand-new first-edition silicon, and the headline '6 J/TH' maths doesn't survive contact with the spec sheet.

This is the most efficient home solo miner I’ve come across, and also the one I’d tell you to be most careful about believing the headline on. TinyChipHub built the Zyber Blanc around a single Bitmain BM1373 - the 3nm chip pulled from the core of the Antminer S23 - and one modern die doing 2.4 TH/s at around 22 watts is a genuinely different proposition to the eight-older-chips approach of its Zyber 8S sibling. The efficiency is real. The number people are quoting for it mostly isn’t.
The take
Start with the maths, because it’s where this product gets misrepresented. You’ll see “6 J/TH” attached to the Blanc, and it’s wrong - it comes from dividing the lowest quoted power by the highest overclock hashrate, two figures the chip never hits at the same moment. TinyChipHub’s own spec says 8-10 J/TH, and their bench test landed around 8.6 J/TH at 15.2 watts. Hold onto that, because it’s still a very good number: a Bitaxe on the previous BM1370 sits near 15 J/TH, so the Blanc is roughly a third more efficient per terahash. That is the honest, defensible version of the story, and it’s enough on its own. You don’t need the invented figure.
What you’re actually buying is a single next-generation chip instead of a stack of older ones. The Zyber 8S I run gives you 6.4 TH/s and better odds for less money per terahash, but it does it with eight rails, a 140-watt draw and a box that gets warm and audible. The Blanc collapses that into one clean power-and-thermal path at a fifth of the wattage. For a desk, a shelf, a room you also live in, that trade - less hashrate, far less heat and noise, much better efficiency - is the whole pitch.
What the numbers actually mean
Stock is 2.4 TH/s at 20 to 24 watts, and that’s the figure to plan around; the “up to 3.3+” and “approaching 3.5” you’ll see are the overclock ceiling, not the shipped default, and chasing them on brand-new 3nm silicon costs you heat and efficiency both. At 2.4 TH/s the solo odds are roughly 1-in-7,000 a year, longer than the 8S because odds follow hashrate and there’s less of it here. So this isn’t the lottery-numbers buy. It’s the watts-and-heat buy: at around 22 watts it’s roughly 5p a day at UK prices, and it barely warms the room.
The two caveats are worth stating plainly rather than burying. First, the firmware. Early units ran an AxeOS transition layer, but TinyChipHub are moving the Blanc onto their own ZyberOS, which is largely closed - so you get the AxeOS lineage and dashboard feel, but not the fully open control that defines the Bitaxe world. If open-source is the point for you, that matters. Second, this is first-edition silicon. The BM1373 is new and runs hot for its size; r/BitAxe voices flag the power-density jump and point at the VRM as the part to watch, and at least one independent teardown notes early-yield thermal anomalies. Nobody has long-run reliability data on this chip yet. The single-die design should help - one thermal loop is easier to keep honest than eight - but “should” is doing work in that sentence, and I won’t pretend otherwise.
Who should get one - and who shouldn’t
Get one if efficiency-per-watt is the thing you actually care about, and you want the newest chip in the smallest, quietest, coolest-running package. It’s the natural pick for a low-draw desk miner where 22 watts and near-silence beat raw terahashes, and where running a single clean unit appeals more than juggling a multi-chip board. If you already own a Bitaxe or two and want to feel the generational efficiency step, this is that step.
Don’t get one if you’re counting pounds-per-terahash - the Zyber 8S is far better value for raw hashrate and odds, and it’s a proven design rather than a first edition. Don’t get one if you need something you can trust to run untouched for two years starting today, because the honest answer is nobody knows yet how this silicon ages. And don’t get one expecting the fully open AxeOS experience, because that’s not where TinyChipHub are taking it. It’s a lovely, efficient little machine with a real caveat attached, and the caveat is just that it’s early.

The Blanc is one modern chip: a quarter of the power, a fraction of the heat, roughly half the J/TH, and about a third of the hashrate. Buy the 8S for odds-per-pound, the Blanc for efficiency and a tidy desk.

Sort of, and this is a genuine caveat. Early units ran an AxeOS transition layer, but TinyChipHub are migrating the Blanc to their own ZyberOS, which is largely closed.
